HeliOS Solutions ads to go live. Logo Contest to Ensue

Yep, we're getting ready to start our print advertising campaign and we are going to need some eye-catching graphics to compete. Now, I know there are some of you that produce stunning work and far be it from me to ever ask anyone to do anything for free...

That's a joke folks...insert laughter here and let's move along.

There will be a prize of sorts for those who's work is chosen.

I have inserted a "template" here at the beginning of the blog...a blank one that can be altered to produce the ad. My thanks to Landy DeField and Qbashi for the stunning artwork and manipulation thereof. I am also posting one that I did so you can see the direction we would like to go. Please use this template to build your entry.

As well, "independent" ideas will be considered. If you have an idea for a print ad that you think would be better, then enter it under the "indi" catagory.

I would like to mention that we still have a need for used hard drives with a capacity of 40 gigs or more. If you have one that you can toss our way, we would be grateful. To be a bit more forthcoming than I really want to be, all we are lacking is 5 hard drives to move ahead.

OK...the "prizes". Here's to hoping for low expectations...

So who's idea was it to start producing machines without "A" drives? What are we to do when a need for a floppy drive arises and the brilliance that is our hardware manufacturers decide we don't need no stinkin' floppy drives?

We have your solution. The prize for the winning Dr. Tux entry will receive a USB portable floppy drive. This beauty is thin, sleek, all silvery and brand new. Carries easily in purse or a really large wallet but we would advise against the wallet thing....trust us.

The "indi" catagory prize will be a 2 gig Scandisk SD card WITH usb adapter. No SD slot in your computer? No problem...slide ye old new SD card into ye old new usb adapter, plug it in and bingo...your Linux machine will pick it up just like any other flash drive. Handy for those older computers without all the mysterious little slots you never knew the purpose of...

Email entries in png, svg, or jpg/jpeg format to helios at fixedbylinux dott kommm. make sure you put "graphix" in the subject line and if you are submitting in the "indi" catagory, place "graphix indi" in the subject line.

Thanks for helping us out and not laughing too hard at our fabulous prize line...

Like you didn't already know who you were dealing with here...

All-Righty then...

I like the picture caption but what is U-N-U-X? (the L-I need more space in-between)

Dammit Jim, I'm a Linux Advocate, not a Graphic Artist...

LOL. That's one of the little tweaks I am hoping folks give us a hand with.
