Can You Sign Us Up?

We've written extensively about our new HeliOS facility lately.  While this blog encompasses much more than HeliOS, we often write about what we do because so many of you support what we do.   We also write about it because this new facility represents a chance for us to triple our productivity.

We are within a week of getting the new operation fully functional, but like the death star, there are obvious parts of the operation that are not quite finished.  We still need to paint and organize all the parts and equipment.  Also, we will need to purchase chairs and a couple of tables for our evening classes.

Equating the Death Star to HeliOS might not be the best analogy but it illustrates the point.  Trust me...Alderaan is safe.

Unfortunately, a significant pledge for construction funding evaporated and the Directors of HeliOS spent their own money in getting this facility ready for our kids.  We're talking well over a thousand dollars.

What we need to finish up and make our grand opening deadline on the 4th of June is our new sign for the front of the building.  We are simply tapped out and spending the rent money to buy a sign isn't the best of ideas.

If you could give us a hand raising the money we need to finish the Taylor facility, The Directors and Volunteers of HeliOS would be eternally grateful.  Besides the sign, we need to finish painting, repairing some badly damaged ceiling tiles and rent a truck to get the final equipment moved to Taylor.

It's gonna cost us about 500.00 to finish so if you are in a position to give us a hand, we would appreciate it.  You can do so by clicking here.  If you wish to do so through paypal, email me at helios  at fixedbylinux dott komm and we'll direct you to the link.

The Linux and Open Source communities have been stellar in supporting our effort and we've tried extremely hard not to come to you for every little thing, but in this case, I'm out of options.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

All-Righty Then...

Don't give Microsoft any ideas — they may send a few X-Wings to take it out. ;) Keep up the amazing work!

Ken I don't mind helping your effort from time to time when I can. It soothes my guilt for not doing the same thing you do.

It's obvious the fire within you to do this burns hot. I am in awe of what you and your organization have accomplished.

We'll probably see you guys in August.
