I didn't see this until just now but better late than never.
We need to make a flag for LINdependence events...assuming others are going to be trying to do the same thing in other places. Being an old military man, I stand on and respect traditions. I think having an official LINdependence flag would be cool. Once one project wraps up, it is shipped to the next event and for every event, a banner is hung from it...stating the name of the town that we held the event and the date.
Anyone wanna work with us on this?

Hey Ken,
I really like this idea, but, how about we put our eggs into getting the first one done.
Then we get the flag and start this.
Cool idea!

Yes, I kind of thought so. I spoke with Larry today and he thinks it is a good idea as well. However, even with the generosity of the few who have helped us, we find ourselves making some compromises in some of the events we are to hold. We may be holding at least two of these events in smaller venues than we planned but we are trying to scratch out a way to not do that.
I have no idea what it would cost to have such a flag made. A guy named Joshua submitted one graphic and it's in svg format so I don't know if it will show up here. We already have market recognition with chainsaw tux and since that is already associated with the project, my vote is we go with that one. We will take the "MS" off the ball though. Who we are freeing people from is a given and we don't need to bludgeon people with the message (thanks Larry, for the tip AND the spelling of the word bludgeon). Should this go to the community? With the lack of interest the general community has with this project, I don't particularly feel beholden to go to them with anything...I say we just form a committee of those who have worked with us and decide for ourselves. Larry?
Is the sun brighter in FL than elsewhere? I worked all day outside and had my polarized sunglasses on. Now I can't read the little tiny letters on the screen without little clouds running over them. Ah, the joys of daily fighting dehydration.
But seriously, I agree with your idea of staying with "Chainsaw Tux" edited. We don't want to limit the audience to only the MS folks, there might be a few others out there. Did Larry explain what a bludgeon is? Also, I have not seen Joshua's flag concept, but if he wants to supply it, I'd support that one. Gift horse and all, you know.
"..community...lack of interest...beholden..." I'm with you. You have a community within the community. Stick with that. Anybody wants input, let 'em come in and help.
Still really like the flag idea, but don't want to see the real work falter because of it. Funding, funding, funding! The first success should help with that.
Go Larry! Thanks Helios!
